The Numbers Don’t Lie: The Lamborghini Urus Has Gone Full Lamborghini

Since every luxury company is getting in on the SUV craze, Lamborghini has gone as you could say, full Lamborghini. They have built the most ridiculous luxury SUV of them all. The numbers tell the story.

$200,000

Starting at $200.000 it costs within a scratch and peck of the Huracan. When compared to your average daily driver, that is astronomical. But, relative to supercars and other luxury SUVs, it almost what I would call a deal. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S starts at $160,000, Bentayga at $229,000, and the Rolls Royce Cullinan at $325,000. That puts the Urus in a measly 3rd place while easily being the fastest of them all.

4850 lbs Curb Weight

That is a lot. It manages to weigh over 700 more pounds than the Aventador, 200 pounds more than the heaviest Lexus RX,  and just 80 lbs shy of a fully loaded F150 Platinum weighs. This is a sports car on stilts but it weighs as much as a full sized truck.

650 HP

This is a total supercar number but the price should demand it. Is it worth the $40,000 more then the 570hp Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, its closest competitor? That is to be answered as the vehicle really gets into the hands of customers and journalists.

79.37” Width

The Fisker Karma I drove only 78.1” and was already impossible to park. An inch wider! That is massively wide. This car is 8” wider than the average American male is tall.

23” Wheels

Good lord. As far as I can tell, this is the largest factory wheel ever made optional on a passenger vehicle. I remember when 22” rims(DUBS) were absolutely asinine and unheard of for even an aftermarket wheel. That 23 figure somehow makes the next number still feel small.

17.32” Front Brakes

The front discs, carbon ceramic of course, on this car are larger than the upgraded LS430 wheels on my LS400. That is ridiculous. The record large wheels make a little more sense after seeing that number.

10 Pistons

No, I am not talking about the engine. This is how many pistons each brake caliper has pressening against the carbon ceramic disc. The calipers have 10. Freaking. Pistons. Of course it weighs a lot and goes like stig, but 10 pistons! The Aventador S Roadster only has 6.

8 Cylinders

This might be the only sane number on the entire car. The world we live in has somehow made a 4.0L V8 with two big turbos pedestrian. What a time to be alive.

4WD

Of course an SUV has to have 4wd. There is always the just in case for all the times you need to leave the asphalt of the road and drive onto the concrete of your driveway

3.6 Seconds from 0-60

2.5 tons reaches 60 in just 3.6 seconds. I don’t even know what to believe anymore. What is physics anymore?
