5. Subaru WRX
The Subaru WRX has always had huge following for a reason and now the latest 2015 model gets a revised chassis, added horsepower and the if you opt for the manual transmission (which you all should), it now comes with a 6 forward gears. It’s the sports car for the entire family. If the WRX just isn’t hardcore enough for you, check out the WRX in STI trim. It’s being unveiled January 14th at the Detroit Auto Show. 4. BMW 2-Series
BMW’s newest model line-up has dimensions similar to my beloved E46 M3 and starts at just over $33k for the 228i. The 228i should have plenty of pep from the turbo engine and the M Sport Package adds the perfect amount of aggressive styling without attracting too much attention. The top dog 2-Series, the M235i, will come with over 300 horsepower and offer the maximum performance available. Dealerships claim the 2-Series will arrive in showrooms as early as February. 3. BMW M4
The first 4-Series with an M badge is bound to be exciting. The new M4 is beautiful inside and aggressive outside with over 430 turbo derived horsepower to match. It’s quite possibly the world’s finest street coupe and easily one of the most anticipated cars of 2014.
2. Ford Mustang GT
Perhaps the most widely anticipated of all 2015 models is Ford’s redesigned Mustang. For me it’s what I’ve been wanting from Ford for the last 15 years — a smaller, lighter, proper IRS, with a big mean V8 and a manual transmission. My only gripe with the redesign is the sloped rear bumper. Maybe it’ll grow on me.
1. Chevrolet Camaro Z/28
Chevrolet needed a Camaro to rival Ford’s Boss 302. The answer is the 2015 Camaro Z/28. To start, just about everything in the interior that wasn’t a necessity was yanked to save weight. Horsepower comes courtesy of GM’s 505 horsepower Z06 engine. Massive brakes were added to slow things down. Oh, it gets better. Big dollars were spent fine tuning the Z/28’s suspension and traction control on the Nurburgring. The result is the most anticipated Camaro this side of your drag strip and the most anticipated Z/28 ever made.
