2016 Chrysler 300S 5.7L: Walter White Approved

I like the idea that on one end of the automotive spectrum, some carmakers, like Tesla, focus all their resources on vehicles that emit 0 emissions and are entirely free from burning fossil fuels, and on the other end of that same spectrum, others, like Chrysler, will sell you a full size sedan powered by a 5.7L pushrod V8.

Ha! What an age we live in.

And there lies the fun of reviewing cars. Because not all automobiles can be reviewed the same way. The 2016 Chrysler 300S, especially with the HEMI, is not a car you evaluate on the sophistication of its drivetrain, the innovation in its design, or the latest developments in its chassis rigidity. It’s a car you evaluate on emotion alone. That said, how relevant is this full size sedan powered by a truck engine and riding on a 20-year old platform in this day and age? The answer is: very relevant. This car is cool on all levels, even if it doesn’t make sense.  So much so, that it will sit in my top 10 list at the end of this year.

Here’s my full review of the car.
