We’re Going To The New York International Auto Show

New York International Auto Show

Detroit was fun, and we’re off to another show – this time in New York. Mike Thompson and I will be attending the New York International Auto Show this week. We’ll be there for the press days, Wednesday and Thursday, and we’ll be bringing you updates from the show on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Keep your scanners peeled for hashtags #NYIAS, #RFDwashere, and #RFDNYIAS2016. We’ll also attend some launches and reveals, and get some interviews with key industry people.

Mike went to Detroit, so he’s an old veteran at this, but this will be my first time at a major auto show (the New England show in Boston doesn’t count), and I’m really looking forward to it. As before, in addition to the big news (I’m quite interested in the Toyota 86 and the new Jeep pickup, as well as Mazda’s claims that they plan to “blow the lid off” the show), we’ll be looking for stories that “the other guys” aren’t covering. Elio Motors will be there, and though the project smells somewhat of what those of us who have worked in the computer industry call “vaporware,” I’m genuinely interested to check them out and be proven wrong. I’m also interested from the perspective of a motorcyclist as well as a car enthusiast. We’ll also be on the lookout for other interesting stories as we run into them.

Stay tuned to Right Foot Down throughout the week for updates from New York!
