It’s the last day of Mustemeber!  Or was it Mustangtember?  Regardless, while we plan a final night (yes, night) of filming for the #rfdmustang, our new GT test car, I figured I would highlight a cool old school Stang.  This is a 1970 Mustang fastback, built by our friends at Sneed Speed Shop.  Sporting a 351 Cleveland engine this car was originally built up between 1983-1985 and was named best custom Mustang in the World in 1992 by Car Craft.

Fast forward a many years, the car had been sitting idle.  For a solid decade.  Enter Chris Sneed and company.  They installed a new gas tank, new fuel lines, built and tuned the awesome 4 weber carbs, and repaired paint work on the lower valances front and rear and made sure it was able to be driven on to a trailer for transport to the auction.  In the end the car sold for $41,800.00  which sounds like a pretty good sale.

Here is more from Barrett Jackson:

“For sale at auction: Lot #700 – The restoration was started in the fall of 1983 and completed it in April 1987. The car was completely disassembled, a 351 Cleveland engine was located and the 3-1/2-year project of inspecting, replacing, painting, plating, etc. commenced. To date the car has won over 200 awards, including Best Paint, Best Chrome, Best Interior, Best Engine, Best of Class, Best Modified, Best Street Machine and Best of Show. It has also been featured in over 20 national magazines, including numerous covers. The engine specifications are 351 Cleveland 4-bolt main, bored .030 over, balanced, blueprinted and magnafluxed. The car has a C4 automatic transmission with manual valve body and B&M Mega Shifter. Front suspension is stock with Koni shocks. Rear suspension has Master traction bars and exhaust system. Custom paint and graphics. Hood modified to highlight Weber carburetor stacks. Front valance and chin spoiler are one-piece fabrication. All of the factory seam imperfections were removed. The car spent nine months in the paint shop, where every one of the 24 coats of primer, base coat, colors and clear coats were block-sanded. The car has been lowered one inch. Custom paint blend consists of Ditzler Calypso Coral as the base with Star Pearl candies of Heather, Wild Rose and silver metallic over a white base. The engine compartment is finished in Centari Black enamel. Chrome detail throughout. Complete undercarriage was stripped and repainted. Rear end, transmission, springs and gas tank have been powder-coated with pinstripes”.

Nice work, badass car.  Here are some bonus pics from Sneed’s Imgur page.
