Random Shot: Pagani Zonda Cinque Gauge Cluster

August 13th, 2010 Josh Taylor No comments

I’ve said it before. I love the Zonda. The new Cinque, 1 of 5 produced, and priced at over 1.3 million Euros, now produces 680hp from a 7.3L Mercedes Benz V12. Power is channeled through a semi-auto single clutch gearbox. The new model features a carbon-titanium material, titanium is actually integrated in to the carbon fiber weave. Attention to detail is ever impressive.

This is Thatcher Shultz’s beautifully restored 993 Carrera RSR clone. Most all of the upgrades are aesthetic, the engine remains mostly stock. Talk about a head turner.

Random Shot: Mercedes Benz “Cosworth” 2.3 16v

This is a rare 1985 “Cosworth” 2.3L 16v. The name nickname came from the designer of the cylinder head, which was produced by a London performance company, Cosworth, who stuffed the largest valves possible at the time in to the cylinder head chamber. Their design featured 16 valves, up from 8 in the standard 2.3L engine, and produce 185hp. It was enough to propel the Mercedes 190 E to over 150mph. Unfortunately, the compression ratio was dropped slightly for the United States imports, yet still produced an impressive 167hp while delivering a flat torque curve.
