The American Le Mans Series is the only series in the world to allow such amazing access to spectators. On this day the cars left the paddock at 9 AM for morning practice before settling on the grid. The front straight is packed with fans. It’s a once in a lifetime chance to get up close and personal to both driver and machine. The crowd stands for the National Anthem and a massive American flag carried by a sky diver lands. The engines fire and the pace car leads the field around the track. By turn 10 the lights are off as the pace car takes to the pit road. The green flag drops and 2011 Petit Le Mans is on!
